December 19 – 23rd Aging in America Review
Home for the Holidays
If you are planning to spend time with loved ones, plan to take care of family business too. Thanksgiving has traditionally been Family Health History Day. A time to learn about health conditions that run in families. From my personal experience, it’s also time to share secret family recipes. As you may know, my mom died suddenly. The first holiday was spent asking, “Where did she???” Consider sharing your family’s special recipes in an envelope for a time when you are not there. This simple gesture is a gift that will be treasured. There are times I take a simple note from my mother and trace her writing with my fingertips. Little did she know the power of that note decades later.
When Roles Reverse?
Here’s a tip. They don’t. While an aging loved one may need help, they are experienced. Treat your parents as the adults they are. Recognize them as an adult who may require assistance. Remember your parents were your age once.

One More Thing!
Take a Bioré® to 2016. Well, metaphorically that is. Why? In one word using a strip is therapeutic. Briefly, the treatment is a ritual. First, you began by washing your face. The act of cleansing. Next, you apply the strip to your nose or chin. Taking action. Then you wait until the strip is dry. A time of reflection Lastly, you have the pleasure of slowly peeling the strip off. The act of letting go. After that, you get to exam what impurities have been removed. A relaunch. Lastly, you enjoy smooth skin without blackheads. The possibility for the future.
If you celebrate Christmas may it be joyous! If you don’t may your weekend be joyous!
