Mornings With theSkimm

Almost two years ago I got skimm’d. To put it another way, I subscribed to the daily news email theSkimm. Instantly, Monday through Friday I receive a smart and short recap of the daily news. Specifically targeted to urban women aged 22–34 theSkimm changed my news habit. Each morning I open theSkimm. In a few minutes, I’ve consumed a  summary of late-breaking stories.

Welcome to Axios

Now in 2017 AXIOS Media has launched Axios. A daily newsletter focused on technology, politics, business, and healthcare. Now in beta, I receive three newsletters ProRata, Axios Vitals, and Axios AM. Axios Vitals focuses on healthcare. While ProRata covers and technology and business. Lastly, AxiosAM covers politics. This latest news source appeared on my radar while watching Morning Joe. By the way, it’s also how I discovered theSkimm. Cheekily I say Axios is the wonky version of theSkimm.

News for Professionals in Aging

At this point in time, with a change in political power and talk of changes to Medicare and Social Security new is a priority. Please follow my lead and subscribe to these news resources. When you need to know more do a deeper dive on Twitter. Then if further research is necessary Google it. The most important thing is to use information to support older adults and the programs and services they need.
