Why Does An Amazon Review Matter To Senior Drivers?

Amazon and the Senior Driver

Last week Amazon added to its offerings Freewheeling After Sixty: Design Your Personalized Transportation System. Because it is my first book I was thrilled when someone bought the book. Then elated when the buyer left a review. The three star review also included the word disappointed. This is not what a new author wants to read! However, the disappointment was not with the book. The disappointment was with the lack of resources available to senior drivers. Below is a snippet from the review:

“What would really help seniors (and anyone else with driving issues) is something that would really address the issue for those of us too far away from the urban areas that have the resources we need. But that would be a massive undertaking since the U.S is so big that everyone’s spread out all over the place; and if you think the solution is simply “move closer to an urban area then”: hard and in most cases impossible if you’re elderly and/or can’t afford to.”

Seniors in rural areas are having an increasingly difficult time getting the transportation. Does that mean an an exodus of elders from rural areas? No there home is in the backcountry of America.

Seniors, Public Policy, and Amazon

The first review on Amazon launched a larger conversation from Americans about the lack of infrastructure.  How will communities meet the growing needs of seniors? My fingers are crossed this review will be first of many more!
